1. A group of school students, mostly from standard X and XI visited the SCSCR lab and SSBS Lab 7 on 21st May,
2026 as a part of their academic enrichment program. The visit began with a comprehensive laboratory tour where Prof. Anuradha Vaidya and the research
scholars explained the purpose and function of various equipment and experimental setups. Visual aids and live demonstrations enhanced student
understanding throughout the session. Students actively engaged by asking thoughtful questions about research processes and career paths.
The experience enabled students to observe real research environments before committing to academic pathways, helping them make evidence-based
career choices. They could identify personal interests by observing different laboratory activities, understand interdisciplinary opportunities.

2. Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari, Assistant Professor at SCSCR, has been recognized as a Global Fellow with WomenLift Health Organization, supported by the Gates Foundation, on 9 April 2026.
This recognition is part of her participation in the “2025 India Cohort of the WomenLift Health Leadership Journey,” a 12-month, fully funded programme that fosters collaboration among talented mid-career women leaders working across diverse areas of health.

1. Ms. Nidhi Sapre, a PhD student under the supervision of Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari at Symbiosis Centre
for Stem Cell Research (SCSCR), has been awarded the Sohan P. Modak Travel Grant by the Ignite Life Science Foundation. The travel grant was
awarded for a poster presentation at the International Conference on Polymers for Advanced Technology, organized by Asian Polymer Association,
between 13th–15th October 2025.
2. Congratulations to Dr. Isha Behere for successfully completing her PhD defense on 13th October
2025. She worked under the guidance of Prof. Anuradha Vaidya at Symbiosis Centre for Stem Cell Research (SCSCR), Symbiosis International
(Deemed University), Pune and Dr Ganesh Ingavle Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College London, UK.
3. Workshop I on "Stem Cell Biology: From Basics to Applications" was successfully conducted
on 18th September2025 at SCSCR. For the workshop, we had 3 eminent stem cell biologists -Prof Anuradha Vaidya gave an overview of stem
cells, Dr Sachin Kadam explained the use of biomaterials for using stem cells in tissue engineering application and Dr Prasad Abnave spoke
and adult and pluripotent stem cells with introduction to planarian regeneration and role of stem cells therein. At the workshop we
covered topics such as - stem cell identification, isolation, use of biomaterials and stem cells for tissue engineering & disease modelling,
use of stem cell derived extracellular vesicles for therapeutic use, therapy and drug discovery. A total of 26 participants engaged
actively throughout the workshop. The event marked a significant step in advancing stem cell education and research awareness.
4. Ms Dharitree Samal, PhD student at the Symbiosis Centre for Stem Cell Research (SCSCR) won an award for poster presentation at the SYMRESEARCH2.0 Bioengineering for Global Health under the personalized medicine track.
5. Congratulations to Dr. Prajakta Teli for successfully completing her PhD defence on 18th June 2024. She worked under the guidance of Prof. Anuradha Vaidya at Symbiosis Centre for Stem Cell Research (SCSCR).”.
6. Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari was an invited delegate to the 9th Green and Sustainable Chemistry Conference held in Pune. The conference was organized by the Elsevier Foundation and it facilitated interaction between the interdisciplinary aspects of sustainability, biotechnology, and chemistry for developing better perspectives on the UN Sustainability Development Goals (SDG’s). Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari along with Dr. Pooja Singh, Assistant Professor at SCWRM as the lead applicant, received the Elsevier Foundation Funds of $25000 as winners of “Elsevier: Chemistry for Climate Change Challenge”.
7. Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari got selected among 30 out of 167 women in the "2025 India Cohort of the WomenLift Health Leadership Journey”, this programme is offered by a global initiative supported by Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
2024
1. Ms. Dharitree Samal won 1st prize for her poster presentation at "Intra and Inter Cellular Regulatory Systems" conference hosted by University of Hyderabad between 18th -21st November 2024.
2. Dr Ruchi Mishra Tiwari won first prize for the poetry competition held at “Symbiosis Centre for Emotional Wellbeing (SCEW)” on the occasion of “World Mental Health Day” 10th October 2024. The theme was “Mental Health at Work".

4. Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari, Assistant Professor at SCSCR, was invited as a Keynote Speaker at a five-day workshop/FDP at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela on 23rd August, 2024.
5. Ms. Taif Sultan Humaid AlEissaee from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, University, United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Al Ain, UAE visited SCSCR-SSBS on 23rd and 24th July 2024 as a part of Elective Program for International Students, SIU. Prof Anuradha Vaidya took a session about her research work, sessions were also conducted by Dr Ruchi Mishra Tiwari and Dr Prasad Pethe.
6. Dr. Yvonne Reinwald visited SCSCR for a week in July 2024 to initiate a collaborative research project with Dr. Ruchi Mishra Tiwari under the 'International Partnership Fund' provided by Nottingham Trent University (NTU), UK. Dr. Yvonne Reinwald is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Engineering at NTU wherein she leads the 'Smart Material Research Group'.
7. Congratulations to Mr Nikhil Shinde for
his outstanding performances that helped his team win the Symbiosis Staff Sports
Fest 2024 cricket tournament in January 2024. Nikhil was awarded the Man of the
Match and Man of the Series award.

in the ceremony held at All Indian Institute of Medical Science, Patna.
9. Congratulations to Dr Ruchi Mishra Tiwari for
being conferred the “Smt. Kusum Sharma Award– 2023” by the Indian Academy of Biomedical
Sciences (IABS). The award was given in view of her outstanding contribution in the field
of Biomedical Sciences, especially in Basic Translational Research.

1.The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) has
sanctioned a project entitled “Identification of pathways involved in the regulation
of CD45 expression in mesenchymal stem/stromal cells: Determination of its role in
aging” for funding of Rs. 49.25 lakhs under the BioCare scheme for a period of 3

5. Ms Dharitree Samal presented a poster entitled
"Histone H2A Deubiquitinase BAP1 is essential for endothelial differentiation from human
pluripotent stem cells" at the 7th ICTR (Indian Society for translational research)
organized by AIIMS New Delhi and KIIT Bhubaneswar from 16th to 18th October 2023 and
her poster won the second prize.
6.Congratulations to Ms Ketki Holkar for successfully
completing her PhD defence in August 2023. She worked under the guidance of Dr Ganesh Ingavle
at Symbiosis Centre for Stem Cell Research (SCSCR).
7. Dr Ganesh Ingavle and Mr Nikhil Shinde, alongwith other
members of SSBS won the prestigious Cricket tournament organized under Symbiosis Sports Fest 2022-2023.

3. Ms Pallavi Budgude presented a poster titled "p38 MAPK signaling suppression in Mesenchymal Stromal Cell induce secretion of Microvesicles and Exosomes that differentially regulate Hematopoietic Stem Cell function" on 17th June 2022 virtually at the 20th Annual meeting of International Society for Stem Cell Research (ISSCR) held from 15th -18th June 2022 in San Francisco, USA.
4. Congratulations to Dr Vaijayanti Kale for being appointed as a member of the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) research committee in the area of “Animal Science and Biotechnology”. The committee is set up to evaluate, assess and recommend the new and on-going projects for their continuation.

The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) sanctioned project proposal entitled “Investigating the osteogenic potential of extracellular vesicles loaded injectable hydrogels” for funding of Rs. 36.50 lakhs for three years. This project will develop injectable hydrogels to investigate the osteogenic potential of stem cell-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs) for bone tissue repair (PI: Dr. Ganesh Ingavle, Co-PI’s: Dr. Vaijayanti Kale and Dr. Prasad Pethe).
The Department of Biotechnology (DBT) sanctioned proposal entitled “Investigating the role of histone deubiquitinases in human pluripotent stem cell differentiation” for funding of Rs. 33.32 lakhs for a period of 2 years.
